linda_at_ancy_nettaNew member Linda Partridge Inman (in photo at right) and her brother Joe Keith “Joey” Partridge Jr. sent these photos of the grave markers of Ancy Netta Chandler and her husband Oseman Doris Weeks at Bethel Cemetery in Winston County, Mississippi. Other versions of Ancy Netta’s name, found in census records and elsewhere, include Nancy Metta and Annasonatta. Her husband has sometimes been referred to as Darius. Ancy Netta, one of 15 children, was the daughter of Robert Bailey Chandler born in Jackson County, Georgia, in 1820 and Mary Jane Wade born 1829 in Cobb County, Georgia. Linda has in her possession the only known portrait of Mary Jane Wade Chandler – see the portrait of Mary Jane.

Robert Bailey Chandler, Donna Gorda’s great-great-grandfather, is buried in Antioch Cemetery, Winston County, Mississippi. He was the son of Robert Chandler (born 1775 Wilkes County, NC) and Margret Johnston (born November 11, 1798). Robert Chandler, born 1775, was the brother of Abraham Chandler, buried Chandler Cemetery, Calhoun, Georgia), so Robert Bailey Chandler buried in Antioch Cemetery, Winston County, Mississippi, is the nephew of Abraham Chandler buried in Chandler Cemetery, Calhoun, Gordon County, Georgia.
